Tschikago

Tschikago is a nonprofit organization creating connections between Berlin & Chicago by bringing Berlin-based artists/ musicians to Chicago and Chicago-based artists/ musicians to Berlin. Both cities are the hubs of their own countries and by nature are rich in international cultures. Artists in each city have been fascinated and influenced by works being generated in both cities so the expanse of cross cultural exchange is great.

Tschikago is setting-up collaborative spaces in these cities so that foreign artists can work and perform during a residency with the local artists. Tschikago gives these artists international exposure by organizing performances and exhibitions in both the US and Germany, and additionally helps get the artists’ recordings /catalogues /literature distributed in the other country.

Tschikago is working with local cultural institutions to help them keep an overview of contemporary events and emerging new artists.
